ITIN Assistance:

The Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) is a tax processing number issued by the Internal Revenue Service. We encourage all individuals not eligible for a SSN to apply for an ITIN and to file their taxes yearly. Locally ITINs can be used to help individuals open bank accounts, utility services and even obtain mortgage loans. ITINs are also accepted as alternatives to SSNs for individuals wanting to purchase private health insurance plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. 
 
El Centro can assist individuals with apply for or renewing their ITIN number at no cost. They can also assist with filing personal income taxes during the annual tax season of February 1st  – April 15th in one of their two VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) sites in Kansas City, KS or Olathe.
