April is shaping up to be a busy month for the organization. Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites are open just a few more days to prepare tax returns for taxpayers earning $54,000 or less. Our Olathe site (located at 11811 S. Sunset Dr. Olathe, KS 66601) will be open to prepare returns on Thursday April 7 (12-4:30pm), Saturday April 9 (8:30am-12:30pm), Wednesday April 13 (12-4:30pm) and Thursday April 14 (12-4:30pm). Our Catholic Charities site (2220 Central Ave. Kansas City, KS 66102) will be open on Thursday April 7 (5:00-8:30pm), Saturday April 9 (8:30am-2:00pm), Thursday April 14 (5:00-8:30pm) and Saturday April 16 (8:30am-2:00pm). El Centro and the KC Metro Immigration Alliance are providing free citizenship application assistance on Saturday April 23 from 10:00am-3:00pm at our main office, 650 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City, KS 66101. Finally, the Olathe Latino Coalition is holding a Free Home Buyer Expo on Saturday April 30. The event will be held at Kansas State University’s Olathe Campus, 22201 W. Innovation Drive, Olathe, KS 66061 from 1:00-5:00pm. The expo will offer home buyer workshops and exhibitors include professionals representing realtors, bankers, inspectors, insurance agents, housing agencies and much more.
