El Centro staff attended an event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid. The event took place at the Truman Library, where the bill was signed by President Johnson in 1965. Our Health Navigators were excited to attend the ceremony for these programs that have helped over 135 million Americans, including thousands here in the Kansas City area.
Here at El Centro, our Health Navigators provide assistance to clients seeking health care services. We are able to help with prescriptions, optical care, durable medical equipment, emergency dental care and diabetes testing supplies. Health Navigators also assist with enrollment in the Healthcare Exchange, KanCare, Medicare and Disability. We also provide referrals to other community agencies.
