El Centro would like to thank The KU Alzheimer’s Disease Center, Jaime Perales and Juntos for presenting the “Smart Aging Class.” The purpose of the course is to increase the understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease risk and build awareness about its causes, treatments and preventative measures. Today’s class was attended by over 20 Latino professionals. Future classes will be taught in Spanish, targeting our clients and the Latino community in our service area.
El Centro received funding from KU Medical Center to offer this class to the community and were specifically sought as a partner because of our reputation as a trusted organization that “strengthens communities and improves the lives of Latinos and others through educational, social and economic opportunities.”
